Character, Knowledge and Independent Thought Denounced As Bourgeoisie
Edukshun piece by Frederick Meekins (11/1/08)
Abraham Lincoln is credited with saying that the philosophy of the classroom in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next. If the proposals of one pedagogical theorist are implemented, students will in all likelihood never know anything about the figure believed to have uttered such an astute observation.

Chgo Sun-Times Greeley: Racism Will Make Obama Lose
MSM piece by Warner Todd Huston (10/31/08)
In the Chicago Sun-Times on October 29, Andrew Greeley said that Barack Obama simply cannot beat racism(1) to become president of the United States. He’s consumed by all the talk of racism during this campaign and he sees it everywhere he turns. Of course, Greeley is right. There ‘is’ a lot of talk of racism. But he isn’t right about where it’s coming from. You see, Greeley is claiming that racism is the sole reason that anyone wouldn’t support Obama and he worries that racist talk is coming in torrents from Obama’s opponents. The truth is, though, that the only people talking about racism is Obama and his most earnest supporters. People like Greeley.
Obama’s Socialist Roots Run Deep
Socialism piece by Doug Edelman (10/31/08)
As a candidate, Barack Obama presents more questions than answers: questionable associations, rhetorical gymnastics, style over substance, questions over experience, even questions over eligibility and citizenship. But when it comes right down to it in the home stretch, it’s all about meat & potato economic issues. As Clinton made his mantra “It’s the economy, stupid”, so this election is turning on the perception of the candidates’ views and plans regarding the current economic woes.

‘Jeremiah Wright’s Prayer Answered?’
Elections piece by J. James Estrada (10/29/08)
A Chicago preacher has famously prayed for God to “damn America”. Jeremiah Wright just may have that prayer answered with this singular event: the election of his spiritual son, Barack Obama, to the presidency of the United States.
George Bush and John McCain Have Destroyed The Republican Party
Republicrats piece by Dave Gibson (10/29/08)
While Barack Obama along with his very liberal agenda, is enough to motivate many people to vote for John McCain, many of us have grown weary of the politics of appeasement practiced by both Bush and McCain. As a result, we stopped caring about this election long ago, when it became that there would actually be two liberals running for President in 2008.
How Socialist Politicians, Legislating Judges and A Leftist Media Defeated “We, The People”
Progressivism piece by Jack L. Key, Ph.D. (10/29/08)
I suppose it really began in the mid 1930’s when Franklin Roosevelt was elected President and started his “New Deal” political escape from the throes of the world-wide ‘Great Economic Depression.” (Which, by the way, was nothing like the current “bail-out” farce being played out on the American people - last count $975 Billion - with another “stimulus amount” yet to come).
‘Obama Supporters Never Heard of Socialism?’
Elections piece by JB Williams (10/29/08)
In response to increasing efforts by local market journalists to ask the questions the national media refuse to ask, Barack Obama and Joe Biden are growing furious at news reporters who have the audacity to label Obama’s socialist “wealth redistribution” campaign as “socialism”…

All They Need is Love - Obama’s Record Doesn’t Matter To Many
Elections piece by Warner Todd Huston (10/28/08)
There is little doubt that Barack Hussein Obama is an empty suit. You know it and I know it. In fact, I know it even better because I am from Illinois. I’ve watched Barack do practically nothing for an entire political career in State government, save vote on the extreme left every time he bothered to—which wasn’t too often. He has the worst absentee and “present” vote record of any Illinois politician.
Obama Begins Suppression of the Media - and more
PoliceState piece by Sher Zieve (10/28/08)
Even before the 2008 US presidential elections Barack Obama, his campaign and supporters have begun their constraint of the press. Chillingly, the leftist Obama media - which includes all of the usual suspects both print and television - are not only going along with it but, have begun their own investigations and vilifications of their colleagues who have refused to drink the Obama Kool-Aid. Obama’s latest victim is Investigative Reporter Barbara West of Orlando’s WFTV who asked Democrat VP Candidate Joe Biden some probing questions; questions that had, prior to that, not been asked of either the secular messiah Obama or his vice prophet.

San Francisco: the Epicenter of Stupid Ideas
Bird-Brain Flu piece by Alan Caruba (10/26/08)
In the 1980s I found myself traveling all over the United States in the employ of a corporation’s quarterly newsletter. I visited many cities and places, discovering the unfailing courtesy and good will of Americans everywhere I went. One of my favorite places was San Francisco. It is picturesque, sits beside a bay spanned by a marvel of engineering, and has great restaurants, hotels, and other attributes.
‘Is the USA Ready for an American Stalin?’
Socialism piece by Sher Zieve (10/26/08)
After observing the growth of Barack Hussein Obama’s increasingly militant and dictatorial movement over the last several months, I have - on many occasions - been reminded of the infamous Russian tyrant Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin. As the actual facts about Stalin may now have been omitted from US middle and high school teaching textbooks, I’ll provide a brief summary of Stalin’s achievements.

Culture of Corruption: Obama and the Teamsters
Elections piece by Jim Kouri (10/25/08)
Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa will be visiting Teamster worksites around the Philadelphia area on October 27-28 to help get out the vote for Sen. Barack Obama in this crucial presidential election, according to a press statement from the union’s press office.
Pa. Judge Throws Out Obama Citizenship Suit
Elections piece by OffSite (10/25/08)
A federal judge has tossed out a complaint that Barack Obama’s name should be taken off the ballot because he is ineligible to be president because he is a citizen of Indonesia rather than the United States.

Democrats Plan Censorship With Reinstatement of the Fairness Doctrine!
Demercrats piece by J. D. Longstreet (10/24/08)
We warned you the Democrats would do this and indications are that they have not abandoned their plans. We also warned you the democrats are all about raw power. The assertion of their tyranny by any means possible. The Fairness Doctrine is censorship, plain and simple. And, indications are that they’re going to pass it, in the House and Senate, if Obama is elected and he WILL sign it into law!
Cornell Staffer/Dean Oppress Student’s Free Speech
Edukshun piece by Warner Todd Huston (10/24/08)
Students that belong to a pro-life campus group called Cornell Coalition for Life (CCFL) spent weeks and hundreds of dollars organizing a pro-life display to be featured on the Cornell University Engineering Campus in Ithaca, New York. This was no guerilla campaign, either, because the CCFL applied for and received permission for its display. Yet, scarcely an hour had passed before an associate dean for the university summarily decided on her own to support the removal of the display by an administrative assistant despite that the display was approved by the college.
Ruining America
Politics piece by Alan Caruba (10/24/08)
George Washington warned against “factions” by which he meant political parties, but even in the earliest days of the new republic, the most natural of human inclinations was to band together with like-minded people to elect one’s preferred candidate to office.

Barack Obama and the End of the Republic
Elections piece by Sher Zieve (10/23/08)
Evidence appears to be mounting that strongly indicates Democrat Presidential candidate Barack Hussein Obama is not a natural-born United States citizen, which is required of all who run for the presidency of the USA. Attorney Philip J. Berg filed a lawsuit against Barack Obama and the DNC (Democrat National Committee) on 15 September 2008. Neither Obama nor the DNC have responded to the suit - indicating that they admit the charges brought by Berg are accurate. Even after the filing of the Berg suit, Obama and his campaign have still refused to present a proper certified birth certificate showing that he is a natural-born US citizen. By said lack of response, candidate Obama is admitting that he is not. Thus, Barack Obama is admitting that he is, indeed, Kenyan. But, as he is the Democrat candidate and apparently a true African running for the presidency of the United States of America, he is being allowed to get away with it. Note: It now seems that anyone who questions a non-US citizen Democrat candidate running for POTUS - who is also an African by birth - is “racist.” So, no one is pushing this obvious slap in the face to the US Constitution. Instead, the US Constitution is being ignored, in favor of a Democrat seizing the office of the president of the United States.
Not Voting For Obama? Then, You’re Racist!
Elections piece by J. D. Longstreet (10/23/08)
Somewhere, sometime, somehow, somebody began the awful accusation that not voting for Obama is an act of racism. Now, we like to think of our scribbling as “family oriented” so I cannot use the language I’d like to use to describe my disgust with anyone who would make such a statement.
The Apex Fallacy: An Interview with Dr. Helen Smith
Femi-Nazis piece by Bernard Chapin (10/23/08)
I have conducted scores of interviews since 2003, but rarely did one alter my worldview. Yet that was precisely what occurred during my exchange with Dr. Helen Smith. Her answer to my second question led to my coming up with a new term for the fallacious way by which feminists comprehend the nature of our social structure. The phrase “Apex Fallacy” sprung to mind as it elucidates fully the inaccurate fashion by which they assess the status of women in America. The error in their thinking arises from a collective refusal to acknowledge that the vast majority of male workers toil in the nether regions of our economy. These hordes of men - who make possible feminist lives of leisure - are totally invisible to the harridans who compare women, on aggregate, to the rich and famous alone. Indeed, when judging female progress, juxtaposition is only made with those males at the apex of our status hierarchy. It seems that feminists can discern none but the elite.

Coming In On A Wing and A Prayer
Elections piece by Jack L. Key (10/22/08)
England, 1943. In the cold, gray overcast you could barely see the wet concrete that closed on infinity and was the runway for the American aircraft that were conducting the bombing raids over Germany in WW II. Worried eyes scanned the dreary skies for any sight of the overdue airplanes. Where were they now? How many were lost? Will any come back home? Hope and faith were the sustaining strengths for those who waited.
Don’t underestimate race and trust in choosing a president
Politics piece by John David Powell (10/22/08)
When historians look back on the 2008 U.S. presidential election, they may determine race and trust were the silent and deciding factors in the surprise election of John McCain. Those same historians may also conclude Barack Obama played a significant role in his own defeat by making race an issue and by eroding the trust of voters by refusing to place his faith in them.
Mandating a Perfect World
Socialism piece by Thomas Brewton (10/22/08)
Liberal-progressives’ conception of social justice always requires the political state forcibly to impose some form of equality.
Jail Time for Blasphemy Under Religious Constitution
Government piece by Thomas Bowden (10/22/08)
Washington, D.C. --“The 20-year jail sentence for blasphemy handed down to Sayad Kambakhsh in Afghanistan this week is the kind of outrage to be expected under any constitution that enshrines Islam as the state religion and the Koran as the supreme law of the land,” said Thomas Bowden, an analyst at the Ayn Rand Center for Individual Rights.
Redistribution of the Wealth
Socialism piece by J. D. Longstreet (10/22/08)
Question: Who said the following, Karl Marx or Barack Obama? “I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.” The answer is… BOTH. Well, sort of. Marx DID say it a little differently. Marx said it this way: “ From each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs.” Judging from their words they both support redistribution of the wealth.
‘Would Obama Pass a Standard Security Clearance?’
Elections piece by OffSite (10/22/08)
With Colin Powell now repeating the lie that Barack Obama has “always been a Christian,” despite new information further confirming Obama’s Muslim childhood (such as the Indonesian school registration listing him as Muslim), one watches with dismay as the Democratic candidate manages to hide the truth on this issue.
Another Lawsuit Filed on Obama’s POTUS Eligibility
Elections piece by Doug Edelman (10/22/08)
Thanks to the lawsuit filed by Philip Berg, Obama now ADMITS (on his “Fight the Smears” website and factcheck.org) that he held dual citizenship with Kenya as a child. This, in and of itself, may arguably disqualify him under Article II as the whole point of the “Natural Born Citizen” requirement is the avoidance of divided allegiances. (Which makes his covert and quite possibly illegal activities [Logan Act?] on behalf of Kenya’s thugocrat, Odinga, all the more relevant and disturbing.)

Memo to General Powell: Barack Obama’s Cop-Killer Supporters
Politics piece by Jim Kouri (10/21/08)
General Powell, I am shocked and angry that you would endorse a man such as Barack Obama for the office of President of the United States. I’ve always admired you, sir, especially because you grew up two blocks away from me in the South Bronx and achieved greatness as a military giant.
Will Joe the Plumber and Soccer Moms Bail out the USA in November 2008
Elections piece by Michael Bresciani (10/21/08)
Can blue collar workers like ‘Joe the Plumber’ and the busy soccer moms swing the election away from the current Obama leaning trend? The answer is an unequivocal and resounding yes; but why should they. Let’s see.
Price Of Olympic Gold Growing Too High
Society piece by Frederick Meekins (10/21/08)
With the breakup of the Soviet Union and the alleged demise of Communism, it was assumed that the Olympic games would no longer be as much of an arena for showcasing the competing ideologies of individual liberty and nearly total social control. And even though East German woman with mustaches no longer quite raise eyebrows and hushed chuckles the way they once did, the Olympics are as much a battle for the minds of men as they have always been.

Time to emphasize the importance of personal Social Security Accounts
Economics piece by Robert E. Meyer (10/20/08)
The recent collapse in the stock market has caused a number of folks to smugly suggest that the advocates who promoted personalizing Social Security have buried themselves in their foxholes of embarrassment, never to be heard from again. Quite to the contrary!
