Lawrence O’Donnel is the Biblically Ignorant One!
Progressivism piece by Doug Edelman (5/1/11)
Since almost nobody watches Lawrence O’Donnell on MSNBC, it’s a pretty safe bet that you either haven’t seen his recent scriptural dissertation - or if you did, it was because someone shared it with you on Facebook!

Importing Disaster: Demographic Changes Mean Democrat Future
Progressivism piece by Selwyn Duke (4/28/11)
At a gathering some years ago, I had a political conversation with a man who had recently arrived here from Denmark. He was advocating his home country’s socialist system, which, of course, led to profound disagreement. He was good natured and cordial, however, so the debate ended on a polite note. Yet it also ended on an ironic one: When asked if he wanted to return home, his answer was no.

Paradox: Green-Loving Washington State About to Penalize Electric Car Owners
Progressivism piece by Warner Todd Huston (4/26/11)
Some people think that marriage is the most absurd institution ever invented by man. But those that think so are ignoring what is truly the most idiotic, paradoxically absurd practice in all of human history: government. Yeah, yeah, necessary evil and all, but still there is nothing that exemplifies human folly better than politics and Washington State has uncorked a doozie for us today.

The Crucifixion of Easter - War Declared!
GreeenIsm piece by Austin Miles (4/24/11)
The most sacred and beloved observance for Christians is Easter. As a child I remember getting dressed on Easter Sunday morning and walking with my parents a block over to the North Park Presbyterian Church in Evansville, Indiana. It was a small brick church and seeing the tulips and irises in full bloom in front of the church was always a mysterious joy as they seemed to have materialized and bloomed that very morning. Those were the days when people had manners and respect.

As The Pseudo-Conservatives Wail
Republicrats piece by J. J. Jackson (4/23/11)
I got them again. Yes the so-called, self-professed conservatives, who are really just a conglomerate of pseudo-conservative moderates who do not want to be called the liberals that they are, sure as shooting did not like my article last week. In that article I knocked Representative Paul Ryan[1] off the perch upon which they had tried to place him. Like a mundane and repetitive soap opera, the moderates predictably howled and moan that I dared to dissect his plan and tell the truth about it. I think I will call this new daytime drama, As The Pseudo-Conservatives Wail.

‘Earth Day or Good Friday. Which Will It Be?’
GreeenIsm piece by J. D. Longstreet (4/22/11)
Paganism and Christianity Forever At Odds - Today is Good Friday. Traditionally the Day Christ was crucified. Today is also Earth Day. It is a date set aside to worship the earth (paganism). Today is also the birthday of Vladimir Lenin, (April 22nd 1870). Lenin was a Russian Marxist revolutionary, author, lawyer, economic theorist, and political philosopher among other things. Lenin created the Soviet Communist Party.

Inane in Spain: The Gender Agenda Forges Ahead
Progressivism piece by Carey Roberts (4/21/11)
Ruben Noe holds the distinction of being the first male transsexual in Spain to become pregnant. Born Estefania, the woman began hormone treatments designed to shrink her breasts, stay her cycle, and eventually become a man.

Obama Continues Fight to End American Prosperity--while he golfs and vacations
ObamaNation piece by Sher Zieve (4/19/11)
When something consummately horrific happens to the United States of America, its people or a US ally, Obama celebrates by going golfing. He, most certainly, must be on the links now. When an unprecedented number of tornadoes hit six US States and killed at least 45 people, Obama went golfing. When his misadventure (aka “war” without any Congressional approvals) against Libya was in full swing, Obama went golfing. While the Japanese people were dying from a massive earthquake, tsunami and radiation Obama went on vacation to Brazil with his family and hangers-on. Michele Obama took her daughters to Spain for another lavish trip and the Obama’s trip to India (although the Obama regime still refuses to disclose the actual figures) is said to have topped the scales at $200 millions/day. All of this is being done while Obama & Co are summarily bankrupting the USA, in order to line their own and their friends’ pockets with American taxpayer money, and destroying Americans ability to earn a living…in other words bleeding us dry.

Unions piece by OffSite (4/16/11)
I expect a lot of union protest and rallies in the coming month, and I fear that things will get ugly.

‘Possible GOP/Tea Party Presidential Ticket: Trump/West?’
Election 2012 piece by J. D. Longstreet (4/15/11)
OK. Before you go all “union” on me – allow me to explain that I am, like most of you, I suspect, trying to get my head around the question of who the GOP is going to actually run as their candidate for the Office of President and Vice-President in 2012. Right now, I suspect, you are as confused as “yours truly.”
America Has No Caesar!
Government piece by Chuck Baldwin (4/15/11)
As with Romans chapter 13, Jesus’ instructions recorded in Matthew 22:21, “Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar’s; and unto God the things that are God’s,” are likewise much misinterpreted. The same people who love to quote Romans 13 to justify their cowardice in the face of oppressive government also use Jesus’ words in Matthew 22 to do the same thing.

Chicago School Accuses Parents of Poisoning Children
Nanny State piece by Warner Todd Huston (4/13/11)
The nanny state in the people’s republic of Chicago rears its ugly head once again where a school principal has accused parents of trying to poison their own children(1) with “unhealthy” bag lunches. And so, in her infinite wisdom, Principal Elsa Carmona had banned all lunches brought from home. I guess it’s just a coincidence that the school gets more federal money for lunches served by the school, eh?
Nat’l Teachers Union Chief Steals Reporter’s Story for Speech Without Attribution
Crime piece by Warner Todd Huston (4/13/11)
I guess being the president of the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) means not having to do your own homework. Just ask AFT President Randi Weingarten. Weingarten was caught(1) using verbatim and without attribution the work of a journalist from New York in a speech she gave a week ago.

The Iranian Armageddon
Middle East piece by Alan Caruba (4/10/11)
In the months and years leading up to the beginning of World War Two, all the parties knew full well Hitler’s intention to start a war. When he struck a deal with Stalin to divide Poland, the die was cast. The invasion came in September 1939. Previously, diplomats had met with the Nazis to offer them the former Czechoslovakia and turned a blind eye to other provocative events.

Post Falsely Claims Conservative Role in Soros-funded “Prison Reform” Movement
Progressivism piece by OffSite (4/8/11)
A new report on “prison reform” has the fingerprints of billionaire leftist George Soros and his organizations all over it. But the media have tried to portray it as the result of a broad left-right coalition that wants to spend money on schools, not prisons.
Obama’s Bribes to the Wash. Post and CBS
ObamaNation piece by Warner Todd Huston (4/8/11)
In a blow to the autonomy of the media it has been discovered that employees of two Old Media outlets are the happy beneficiaries of hundreds of thousands of federal dollars from an Obamacare slush fund. CBS and the Washington Post have both taken large payments from Obama’s Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP), with the Post getting $573,217 while CBS has received a whopping $722,388.

Progressivism piece by OffSite (4/4/11)

Obama: Ask me no questions, I’ll tell you no lies
ObamaNation piece by Michael Bresciani (4/2/11)
Ask me no questions I’ll tell you no lies, is a phrase attributed to Irish playwright Oliver Goldsmith (1728-1774). If Goldsmith were alive today he would probably want to meet President Obama and most of his cabinet and appointees so he could see those who have brought his coined phrase into a daily standard of practice.
‘Turning point in afghanistan?’

A Muslim UN worker in Afghanistan was asked to provide what she observed in today’s massacre, at the hands of “ordinary” citizens. She posted it on this UN web blog(1)(see below).

Compromised Wisc. Judge Rewrites Stop Order For Union Law… Again
Judicial Activism piece by Warner Todd Huston (4/1/11)
Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi has gone back to her order to stop Gov. Scott Walker’s union bill and rewritten it in an effort to assist unions and Democrats (including her Democratic Operative son) continue to ride the gravy train at the expense of the taxpayers.

Divided And Twisted Democrat Loyalties Endanger America
Political Correctness piece by Christopher G. Adamo (3/31/11)
This past month, Republican Congressman Peter King of New York held hearings on the radicalization of Muslims in the United States. In light of the Islam/Sharia phenomenon that has burgeoned throughout the world ever since the Presidency of Jimmy Carter, and the proliferation of attacks against America that ensued, it would only make sense to launch a high-level investigation of the conditions that spawned this mounting danger.

The Left’s Koch and Bull Story
Progressivism piece by Warner Todd Huston (3/29/11)
Any more being on the left is little different than being a flat earther or a true believer in UFOs. One may as well accept that sprites infest the woodlands and leprechauns have cornered the gold market as believe in the fantastic conspiracies the left indulges in. The left’s latest flight of fantasy has been its anti-Koch brothers zealotry.
‘Taxes By The Mile In The USA?’

The Proposed Vehicle Mile Tax - They are testing the waters again in Washington. Always looking for an opportunity to take advantage of a crisis to squeeze even more money from the taxpayers of America.

Pennsylvania Governor Places Communal Glory Over Individual Worth
Progressivism piece by Frederick Meekins (3/26/11)
In his comments regarding the cancellation of a football game, Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell actually let slip the contempt he feels towards the citizens of the United States in general and the people of the Keystone State in particular.

A World in Disarray
Foreign Policy piece by Alan Caruba (3/24/11)
It almost makes one wistful for the Cold War when the world was neatly divided between the United States and its allies against what Ronald Reagan called “the evil empire”, the Soviet Union and its satellite nations.

DV Fakers are Shortchanging the True Victims
Femi-Nazis piece by Carey Roberts (3/23/11)
We should all be concerned about the ongoing epidemic of intimate partner violence. But the March 9 edition of the cheeky Village Voice casts a spotlight on the sordid under-belly to the abuse issue – the problem of scammers who finagle besieged public benefit programs by making a false accusation of partner violence.

Military Action in Libya: Conundrums and Calculations
Foreign Policy piece by Warner Todd Huston (3/22/11)
The military action in Libya undertaken by a “coalition of the willing” at the end of last week is, from an American perspective, as vexing as it is elating. On one hand it is good that the US came to the aid of a people yearning to over thrown a murderous dictator, but on the other it is troubling that America is going into this with no plan, no policy, and no idea who the players on the rebel side even are.

‘What Does The Government Do Well?’
Government piece by Thomas D. Segel (3/19/11)
Harlingen, Texas, March 18, 2011: A young veteran of my acquaintance is getting very frustrated with our government. He has been trying to get his educational benefits for the past six months and still hasn’t seen a check in the mail. While on active duty he suffered through repeated deployments, far in excess of what should be required of any soldier. Now, out of uniform, he must do battle again just to obtain promised benefits. I am sure the words I had for him were anything but comforting. I let him know that historically veterans and military retirees had to fight until exhausted just to hold a grip on the beachhead of every benefit they had been promised.
