“CHiPs” (Coerced Healthcare Patrol) Starring Barak Obama
by Lee Culpepper (7/26/09)
President Obama has his reckless socialist agenda roaring at a high gear, but have you noticed how much it resembles a California high-speed pursuit? We have all seen news coverage of some nimrod attempting to escape a small army of law enforcement officers equipped with high-performance police cars and helicopters. The assailant never gets away, but ignoramus after ignoramus tries to make this inevitable failure of an idea succeed. Though the derelicts may have no regard for the general public’s safety, many psychologists believe they have no shortage of inexplicable vanity.
With Obama in America’s driver’s seat, the situations seem eerily similar. The president is speeding out of control - eluding the Constitution and modifying the nation with foolish, socialist legislation. His desperate power trip is steering the country wildly toward the dead end to which socialism always leads. As this story unfolds, we can surely foresee the ghastly accident looming around the corner. And we can only hope to stay out of Obama’s erratic path.
Granted, Obama’s radical ideology far exceeds the serious perils of a fugitive driver strung-out on methamphetamines. But wouldn’t the president himself have to be under the influence of mind altering drugs to honestly believe that he isn’t demolishing the country by strangling the private sector; raising taxes; wasting disgraceful amounts of money; increasing an already immoral national debt; and devaluing America’s Christian heritage? From all appearances, however, the president seems inebriated only from a cocktail of arrogance and control. Staggeringly high on himself, Obama cannot comprehend that his imaginary utopian society is purely a hallucination.
As if his evading the Constitution or attempting to wreck capitalism for six months hasn’t already made enough of us sick, Obama is now aggressively accelerating towards a government controlled healthcare system. Thankfully, even some liberals are beginning to have difficulty tolerating the president’s deceptive tactics. They are learning from experience that the president almost always says the opposite of what he means. Obama says, “I have also pledged that health insurance reform will not add to our deficit over the next decade. And I mean it.”
Though I’m no doctor, a prescription of antipsychotics might help the president if he truly believes he can fulfill this promise and also cover millions of currently uninsured Americans; reduce health care costs; and improve the quality of care. Only someone experiencing a manic episode of bipolar disorder could be that delusional.
However, Obama remains undaunted by the calamity that his healthcare plan would cause. He uses swerving rhetoric to signal that the introduction of a government healthcare option would actually create more choices for Americans by competing with existing private sector insurance plans. According to Obama, consumers would therefore benefit from lower prices. But this is not the truth.
In reality, Obama aims to run private healthcare providers right off the road. Current federal health programs like Medicaid and Veterans Affairs (VA) already purchase drugs from pharmaceutical companies at greatly discounted prices. Obama does not share that his government option would likely receive similar pricing discounts. Or perhaps the federal government would set new, even lower price controls on the pharmaceuticals it purchases. How would commercial plans that must pay higher prices be able to compete with Obama’s option? Wouldn’t the pharmaceutical companies have to recoup their costs somewhere, resulting in even higher commercial prices or lower quality medicine?
Clearly, Obama is thinking that if he keeps driving his socialist healthcare agenda at blazing speeds, maybe nobody will notice that only a single-payer, government-healthcare system will be all that’s remains.
Amazingly, Obama still possesses an alarming number of co-dependent Americans who are willing to ride along on his reckless journey. Obama insists healthcare reform must be passed exactly the way the mind-boggling second stimulus package was passed - without anyone knowing the details. Still his followers trust that his souped-up wording of old socialist ideas (ideas that have consistently failed over the past generation) will somehow defy the history of socialist futility.
Though disingenuous, the president says he’s open to negotiating the surrender of his radical plan if anyone can come up with one that sounds better. If that were true, why not just stick with the government programs that already exist as opposed to making the system even worse? If the president feels burdened to ensure more Americans are covered, he can always encourage many of them to volunteer for military service. Military medical benefits are outstanding, and the advantages for America would be fantastic. Just imagine having more disciplined citizens, additional troops protecting us from Islamic terrorists, and more physically fit people in society. What’s not to like about that? Better yet, that option truly would be voluntary!
On the other hand, should Congress fail to arrest Obama’s renegade healthcare plan, no amount of government health insurance could treat the sort of suffering Obama would force us to accept.
