Seeing Our Coming Economic Future
by Malcolm T. Hedges (9/19/09)
The “Stimulus Bill” contained a little mentioned item that encourages expansion of “welfare rolls”. Most probably because the writers knew damn well there is no real stimulus in the bill - all it does is stimulate Socialism.
“A key part of the Clinton-era welfare reform was changing the way the federal government reimbursed states for state welfare spending, switching to a flat rate that did not increase just to adjust to increases in the number of people in the state enrolled in welfare.” ”For the first time since 1996, the federal government would begin paying states bonuses to increase their welfare caseloads.”(1)
Welfare is a “socialist” scheme. It is disguised as “charity by the state” and “help for the downtrodden” but really is “redistribution of the wealth” from people that work to people to lazy to work.
It also rewards unwed motherhood, thus encouraging such behavior. Many places blindside the rules by giving ineligible people welfare in the name of the children(s).
So far the rise in welfare rolls has been spotty(3). Various factors in the rules have precluded getting welfare and men have been “so far” been the most affected by the recession.
People on welfare are like boat anchors around the governments neck. They drain the tax coffers while contributing little to society or the tax base.
The Demercrat/Socialist agenda is systematically undermining capitalism and the private economy. So they know full well that more and more people will depend on the “state” to keep them feed and sheltered. That existence will be marginal at the least but for many it beats having to go to work and such other inconvenient stupidity.
A significant percentage of the welfare population lives in the Demercrat/Socialist controlled and operated mega-cities and states. These artificial “Socialist ghettos” are encouraged and perpetuated to “get the votes”.
Most of the participants are “self styled oppressed minorities” but in actual fact are skaters and slugs. Granted there a some people that deserve assistance and support while pulling themselves back from economic distress but far less than the welfare rolls would portend to be necessary.
As the welfare rolls expand the providing government entities will be crushed under the economic load. At the same time small business will continue to shrink thus fueling the vicious self enhancing circle.
The USA is by purpose fast becoming a “Welfare State” in the worst sense. Such a Welfare State is the Socialist nirvana with the serfs confined in poverty while the elite leadership lives high on the hog.
Ignored by the willing bureaucrat enforcers and instigators is that they will be sucked into the very economic black hole they are building.
The “unemployment insurance” fiction and sham is already broken. States are hemorrhaging money and spiraling into economic disaster. When that mess collapses all that is left is “welfare”.
Eventually the only “answer” is that the 45%+ of working people that now pay no income tax or get fabricated refunds will lose those fabricated refunds and start being forced to pay actual income tax.
In Europe typical workers with nominal entry level jobs pay from 55% to 60% of their paycheck to Big Brother and then must pay a 15% or more sales tax on everything they buy. It will be worse here soon if the Demercrat/Socialists get their agenda up to speed.
I can see an effective base 75% tax rate with the half a**ed individuals now in Congress.
